Alex Kerr shows
I have been in the online radio industry for over 20 years or even more.
I lived in Howwood road and went to school at Cochrane Castle school then up to Johnstone High
In 1982 I founded Johnstone Talking Newspaper for the Blind, which is still going and called Renfrewshire Sound. In 1986 I became a bus driver for Clydeside Scottish and drove the old London routemaster buses.
In 1990 I got married to a Corseford lass Andrea, and got a job with the MOD in Oxfordshire where I still live, with my little boy 2 dogs.
I started a online station here and was very successful still going today. I have worked at BBC and Radio Sliverstone also did work for Paisley FM.
Johnstone will always have a place in my heart as its my hometown, so when I came up with the idea of starting an online community station for Johnstone, it was a no brainer for me.
We now have a team of around 10 hard working volunteers at the station and we are moving forward to get an DAB service for Johnstone very soon.
I am on the Alpha Late Breakfast during school terms 10am and you may hear me on other shows threw the week.
You can also hear it on www.alphabreakfast.co.uk
If you would like to be part of the station please contact us.
