James Smith – Mr Fabulous Presenter & Multi Award Winner

Well what can I say…..I am a Radio Presenter on Scene Radio with my show ‘A Date with Mr Fabulous’ its all about me and my music with interviews with fabulous friends and celebrity friends. Co-Host on ‘The Banterers’ show with Camglen Radio with very interesting celebs and local guests having a little banter.

With hosting Ladies Lunches, Ladies Nights, Awards Ceremonies, Fashion Shows, Talent Competitions, interviews for charities, organisations and loads more. I am also a Judge for many Award Ceremonies, Talent Competitions etc across the UK and working with ITV as a scout for talent.

Mr Fabulous is my alter-ego……. which seen me in my first ever PANTO in 2016, I was Prince Charming in ‘Once Upon A Time’ performed by the Dunlop Players Theatre Company, also starred in ‘Oliver the Musical’ in the Falkirk Town Hall in 2017, again proud to be taking part in something different.

As a TV personality you can also find me on STV – ‘Live At Five’ doing ‘Caught Your Eye’ where I have a chat about the days news and stories that have caught my eye, also tasting the Celebrity Chefs food. Reality show ‘Come Dine With Me’ also more coming to your screens soon.

My husband and I made Scottish history as we were the first same sex couple approved in Scotland for adoption in 2009, and first to be placed with a child.

We have since adopted our son Samuel, which was the best thing I’ve ever done.

We are now settled as a family, and since this process has given us great joy we have therefore decided to make it public (2016) knowledge to encourage others to do likewise. Social Work Services asked me to be an Ambassador for Families for Children which I am very proud and happy to be. I have worked alongside them and also The Sunday Herald in publicising our story to promote adoption, also interviews with the BBC, STV etc such as the Kaye Adams Show, Live at Five, Radio Shows etc and many more. I’m also involved with Glasgow City Council’s fostering & adoption campaigns.

I am a very outgoing bubbly positive person that supports a number of charities and organisations, but I also have a few businesses that I oversee. My time is taken up with being a parent, doing charity work and taking part in a host of events.

I previously lived in Madrid where I had an English Language Academy that taught children and adults the English language. I’m the Director of a property lettings company JNS Properties which I founded in 2007 to assist families in need to relocate to quality housing. One of my positions is CEO of @Hillhead which I’m very proud of, that supports so many. This is a charity encompassing charitable organisations and I have been involved with the third sector for many years and supportive of numerous charities and groups from kinship caring to animal welfare. My latest venture is my new hotel Roebank Hotel in Ayrshire which opened in 2018, with me expanding in 2019. Also I am a foster carer, having looked after almost fifty children throughout my foster career to date, which has and is just so rewarding.

Being asked to be the Ambassador for the Scottish Charity ‘Children 1st’ was so overwhelming and is such an honour. It has been amazing learning so much about Scotland’s children and this is why I am so proud to be in a position to help make a difference to children’s lives.

Also have fun as the Ambassador for ‘Steven Brown Art’ famous for his colourful McCoo artwork.

Going out visiting Schools, clubs etc to help the little artists get inspired with some fun. I really enjoy being part of this team as there is never a dull moment.

I am a Brand Sponsor for a few labels but I really love ‘Highland Cathedral Kilts’ that I were to all my glamorous events, with a different outfit every time.

I have been recognized for a few awards……. Invited to visit the Queen for recognition of my charity work……..
