Background

Presenter

Liam Christie

I have done sports podcasts and I was on my Facebook feed one day and I seen an advertisement for Johnstone community radio. After getting in touch via email I started training and I've now got my own weekly show. I play anything from classic rock ,Indie and r and b hits to modern songs that maybe no one has heard in a while or at all. I have a varied music taste that I love to share with everyone and hopefully my show makes people laugh or just happy in general. Music is life and can remind you of certain moments whether that would be happy or sad and thats why I have a passion for it.

Presenter

Antony Crawford

I’m Antony Crawford. I’ve been with the station since January 2020. I am currently off air, but will pop up from time to time, keep an eye on the facebook page to see when I’m on. I help with the tech support, production and keeping the station running smoothly. Along with that I also help new presenters from the first contact right the way through to being on air and beyond.

Presenter

Emma Gabarda

I’m Emma, also known as ‘Frenchie’, and I’ve been a professional singer for 18 years. I’m from the south of France but I moved to Glasgow 2017 to study Music Business, then Marketing & Communications. I love discovering new bands and going to local gigs, that’s why I joined Johnstone Sound in April 2021 to host French Connection. It gives me the opportunity to play new music and unsigned bands from France, Scotland and beyond every week. So if you like to discover new music, join the French Connection show every Wednesday from 8pm on Johnstone Sound.

Presenter

Hugh Lindsay

As a teenager back in the 60s I was a fan and listener to the off shore radio stations with their DJs blasting out great music all day every day and I suppose I would have loved to have had go at doing that but never had the time or opportunity. After all these years Johnstone Sound was looking for volunteers and I jumped at the opportunity to go on air. I present the Sunday morning Feel Good Sunday Show 10.00-12.00 with a mix of music from the last 6 decades and a few new releases and album tracks from well known artists not forgetting some jingles from back in the 60s.

Presenter

Robin Stevens

Hi I'm Robin! I'm an 18 year old media student from Johnstone. Join me on a Monday night live from 8:00-10:00 for some relaxing pop hits, perfect for studying to or to listen while watching the telly. I hope to see you then! :)

Presenter

Kevin McLaughlin

Hi Kevin here, Im married to Angela, Dad to Joshua and I am a sales manager for a consumer electronics company. I have been in the same industry for all of my working life. I was born in Paisley, grew up in Spateston – a housing estate in Johnstone – and later moved nearer to the town centre. I still live in the area with my family, socialise locally and consider myself to be a proper Johnstone boy. A few years back myself and a friend helped to organise some charity events within Johnstone to try and support some local organisation’s, and the project which lasted for four years, was really enjoyable and successful. Afterwards I felt I wanted to help or be involved in some other way within the community, whether that be with a charity or doing some other form of voluntary work. I met the Johnstone Sound team and, given my love for music and a previous association with radio, it seemed right to get involved with the station and I now host two shows which are Thursday Night Live from 8-10pm each week and also the Alpha 80’s Hour every Sunday @ 8pm. I was also invited to join the station committee in March 2021. We have a great team and set up here at Johnstone Sound and hopefully I can help to spread the word and raise awareness of the station. You can be involved also, and we would love to hear from you. Best wishes and stay safe. Kevin. Kevin McLaughlin Mobile - 07977184601 Email - km070672@yahoo.co.uk
